Marda Loop Swim Club

Join our recreational, non-competitive club for swimmers, ages 7 to 18 years. Our goal is to improve each swimmer’s stroke ability, endurance, and confidence through coaching and training. Although the club is recreational, the focus is on competitive swimming skills (i.e. speed, efficiency, and endurance) making our club attractive for youth looking to "springboard" into a more competitive club in the future. MLCA membership is required to register in this program. Click here to purchase your membership today.

Additional Information

New this Year:

In order to create a more inviting and focused environment, we are creating two time slots for Tankers, Juniors, and Intermediate. This is to accommodate those swimmers where the duration appears to be too long (specifically the younger age group) and as well to spread capacity in order to provide more focused lessons on each member.

You may register for two different time slots if you wish to do so.

If your child has been in Tankers for two years, they will automatically be moved up into the Junior Category.

If your child does not attend 3 consecutive Swim Club sessions, he/she will be removed from the Club with no refund.

We will be ordering cool Swim Suits for each Swim Club Member which can be fitted and purchased in September. More details will be released once finalized. They will likely be ordered in the third week of Swim Club once each participant has had a chance to be properly fitted.

There will be no Swim Club on the Easter Monday next year.

The Club is a fun, recreational, non-competitive club for swimmers 7-18 years old. The goal of the Club is to improve each swimmer’s stroke ability, endurance and confidence through coaching and training.

The priority of the Club is the development of a swimmer’s self-confidence, self-awareness, and skill level. Time trials and optional swim meets are used to assess swimmer’s improvement. Children will learn in a positive atmosphere.

About MLCA Preschool

Our mission is to provide an exceptional, community-based preschool within a nurturing environment that fosters each child’s intellectual and social-emotional development.

We are a creative, play-based community preschool where children have the opportunity to learn through an environment that lays the foundation for future education. We promote peer-teacher-student relationships that develop children’s self-esteem and self awareness. Teachers encourage children to explore their environment through various sensory stations and enrichment programs which promote child-directed learning at a pace that meets each child’s needs.

The MLCA preschool is a parent-run cooperative and we ask for parents to get involved by volunteering in class and through small administrative or operational roles.

Set in the heart of the vibrant Marda Loop, our bright and cheerful preschool is positioned opposite the community centre, playground, ice-rink, library, fire hall, and community gardens.
