6:30pm - 8:30pm
MLCA Upper Hall
(3130 16th St SW)
Please join the MLCA Planning & Development Committee and the U of C EVDS Students at this workshop and help the students by providing feedback about their analysis and initial findings. Have they missed anything important? Have they identified the main issues? The workshop will include a series of mapping and discussion exercises that will inform the students’ project.
In the summer of 2017 the Marda Loop Community Association (MLCA) identified the need for a comprehensive plan that could address the existing and forthcoming issues associated with land use and development in the neighbourhood. In collaboration with the Federation of Calgary Communities (FCC), the Faculty of Environmental Design (EVDS) was approached to work together with the MLCA to develop a study that could become the foundation for a future land use and development plan. This project is supported as part of the Urban Alliance, a partnership between the City of Calgary and the University of Calgary.
The Marda Loop Land Use and Development Study, was selected as the final project for the Master of Planning students at EVDS. Students will focus on current urban development issues and produce a final report that addresses the most pressing issues and provides potential strategies for future development.
