Business Revitalization Zone

The Marda Loop Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ), established in 1984, represents over 120 merchants that are the soul of Marda Loop. Its business members contribute to the annual BRZ fund that allows the Marda Loop BRZ to initiate several projects each year to help promote, maintain and enhance Marda Loop.

Every year the Marda Loop community celebrates summer by hosting the Marda Gras Festival. It's a day filled with fun for the whole family. Live music, street market, kid's quarter, roaming minstrels, beach volleyball, beer gardens and so much more!

The festival is held the second Sunday in August. Please be advised that 33rd Ave throughout the Marda Loop commercial area is closed to vehicle traffic during the festival. While Marda Loop is better recognized as the local commercial district, the South Calgary & Altadore communities boast a variety of stores and services throughout the surrounding area.
